Projects Lead, Chairman’s Office at Tube Investment of India Ltd.

Location : Chennai / Mumbai

About the Company:

Tube Investment of India Ltd. (TI) is an engineering & manufacturing company part of the Murugappa Group. The group a 120+ year conglomerate, with a revenue of USD 7Bn and a market cap of USD 25Bn+ having about 60,000 employees.

With over 40 manufacturing locations, TI has a market cap of $ 6.5Bn and commands a leadership position across multiple business verticals. The company historically focused on manufacturing on Automotive components (tubes, chains, gears, etc.), railway products, etc. Over the last few years, the company has diversified and has forayed into:

1) Electric Vehicle Manufacturing: TI manufactures E-3wheelers (Montra Electric), E-Tractor (Cellestial) and E-Trucks (IPLT)

2) Electronics: Camera modules under the company called Moshine

3) Medical Devices

TI also acquired a Power & Industrial Systems company called CG Power which is Indias largest manufacturer of low-tension motors and is a large manufacturer in the power and industrial sectors

Job Responsibilities:

• Ideation and implementation special projects from Chairmans office across newly identified growth sectors such as Electric Vehicles, Electronics, Medical devices, etc.
• Monitoring, reporting and impact measurement on critical projects to the Chairman
• Assessing market trends and keeping track of competitors to identify threats/ opportunities
• Review performance of business verticals and identifying solutions & implementing them
• Work closely with business teams to identify initiatives and drive actions change across identified projects
• Supporting and guiding senior executive decision-making processes
• Assisting M&A team in identifying opportunities, due diligence & deal closure

Requirements:

• Education: B. tech and Engineering from IITs and Masters degree from IIMs or ISB(Hyderabad) or Ivy League Universities

Experience/ Skill-set:

• 6 -12 years work experience with 5 – 10 years work experience in management consulting, strategic planning, or any other strategy role;
• Client facing role – went in person to client and spent most time doing work on client location
• Worked on strategy projects and not IT projects
• Detailed understanding of business operations and procedures
• Strong research and analytical abilities & project management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
